It is also important for a bride to know her body or measurements. This isn’t mandatory but brides who don’t research before their appointment are often shocked by bridal sizing.

As you know, everyday clothes that are usually bought in sizes like small, medium, large, extra large, etc. However bridal gowns are bought using a size chart with measurements that are provided by the designer. Each designer has a unique size chart because these gowns are usually handmade. This is why bridal gowns are considered a luxury retail. Bridal sizing is known to be “hateful” because brides are usually sized two-three sizes bigger than their normal clothing size. However, sizing is different with every designer.

When we visit our designers to buy new gowns, we are looking for gowns that are not only beautiful but have great structure. A gown is only as beautiful as it is strong. What do we mean by that? A gown can be gorgeous but if it does not have enough structure to hold a bride together the integrity of the gown will be compromised and she will not enjoy any of her photos.
